“Epic Voyage”, the joint venture studio GREE studio Wright Flyer Studios formed with LINE last year, has today shown its first app.
Dubbed “LINE Tower Rising”, the game will be a casual dungeon crawler with simple graphics and control. The goal is to move from room to room and floor to floor and to find treasures, kill monsters, and level up one’s characters.
Users can expect to customize their characters with over 300 different pieces of armor and weapons. It will also be possible to visit the towers of other players and gift items to each other.
LINE is already accepting pre-registrations (Japanese only).
What neither LINE nor GREE is mentioning (and the general public probably forgot) is that early last year, GREE released a very similar game called “Dungeon Flicker”.
That app is available in English, looks exactly the same as LINE Tower Rising and also features the same control (flick to move forward, backward, and to the right or left) – but lacks the aforementioned social features.
LINE Tower Rising is scheduled to go live sometime this spring.
