Japan’s top smartphone game Puzzle & Dragons, which is estimated to generate a mind-blowing US$62-86 million per month (some think it’s even more), continues to grow.
The RPG/puzzle hybrid now has 11 million users in Japan, maker GungHo is reporting.
This chart from Japanese news site Social Game Info summarizes how the game has been adding users since launch on iOS on February 20, 2012.
As can be seen, it took Puzzle & Dragons just 16 days to grow from ten million users earlier on March 9 to 11 million on March 25:
That accelerated growth around October 2012 is based on the launch of the Android version of the game and, much more importantly, the TV ad campaign GungHo started in that month.
And to make sure Puzzle & Dragons continues to rack up users, the company started a new TV ad campaign on March 26.
