Tokyo-based KLab announced today that the number of registered users playing their social games crossed the 20 million mark at the end of September.
The company offers around two dozen different titles across Mobage, Mixi, GREE, the App Store and Google Play (direct), and the soon to be released Bushimo mobile gaming platform. Its first title in English, card battle game Lord Of The Dragons, briefly hit the top spot in the free game ranking in the US App Store two weeks ago.
What’s interesting here, apart from the impressive number of users itself, is that KLab started producing social games in December 2009. The company counted 10 million players in June 2011.
And now 20 million users – this number puts KLab in the same ball park as Konami (which counts 25 million players for their social games) or Namco Bandai (which reported 10 million users earlier this year).
KLab is currently listed at the Tokyo Stock Exchange with a US$210 million market cap.
