I have been admiring the work of Hideo Kojima, the designer behind hit video game franchise Metal Gear, for years.
And today, during an event in Tokyo to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the action-adventure series, Kojima took the stage with GREE CEO Yoshikazu Tanaka to announce the first social Metal Gear game.
“Metal Gear Solid Social Ops” is designed in 3D, runs on Unity, has card battle elements, and will be released on GREE worldwide in fall or winter. Maker Konami is planning to present a playable version during the Tokyo Game Show next month.
GREE already inked a deal with Capcom to secure social versions of other hit video game franchises Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.
