GREE announced a pretty interesting partnership with NCsoft yesterday: under the deal, the Korean company will release a new version of Lineage, its popular MMORPG, on GREE for mobile devices.
GREE says that the new Lineage game is just the first title that will come out of the partnership.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that at least initially, Lineage for GREE will be released in Japan only (the original computer game is available in Japanese language, too, by the way).
It looks like the deal was handled by GREE in Korea (the local subsidiary’s CEO, Yusuke Amano, can be seen on the left):
GREE opened an office in Korea last year, entered a partnership with local gaming startup Company 100, bought PaprikaLab, and invested in Mobicle.
