Golgo 13, a Japanese cult manga from the 1960s, is getting the social game treatment. DeNA announced it has launched a social “battle RPG” of the same name on Mobage for Japanese feature phones yesterday.
In the game, players are supposed to assemble a team of top agents and engage in different missions and battles. DeNA says Duke Tougou, the main protagonist, will have to win boss fights and clear several in-game events to move forward in the game.
Mobage players who happen to be fans of the manga (DeNA is aiming at an older target group with this title) will see over 300 characters from Golgo 13 over the course of the game.
The title has been developed by Index Corporation. A version for Mobage on smartphones is scheduled to launch next month.
