Fired up by healthy sales numbers last quarter, Konami is continuing to churn out social games: the company announced BE-BOP-HIGHSCHOOL for Mobage on feature phones (official website).
The new title is based on a Japanese high school manga from the 1980s – and it’s yet another social card game.
Konami explains:
With the release of the social game, KONAMI hopes to deliver a title that can be enjoyed by social game users in addition to long-time fans of the manga.
The social game “BE-BOP-HIGHSCHOOL” is a simulation game set within the world of the manga, in which players collect and upgrade cards of their favorite characters. Players can enjoy battles fought alongside friends or against other players, and root for the characters as they try to catch the attention of girls. Events based on the storyline of the original manga are also scheduled to be held.
Pre-registration started earlier this week, with Konami saying that the game will be launched “this winter”.
