GREE Starts Doing Ads In The US [Social Games]

Truth be told, I don’t know what GREE International is thinking here, but it appears GREE‘s US-based subsidiary has bought advertising space on billboards on Highway 101 in San Francisco.

It’s just one for the time being, but the company already announced more billboards via Twitter.

This is the billboard currently on display (picture taken from GREE International’s blog):

What’s interesting is that this seems to be a job recruiting ad (not one for games) and that GREE put its own brand (and not Openfeint) on the billboard.

Again, I don’t get how GREE expects to attract “great talent” in the US with billboards, but that’s OK. These billboards aren’t cheap by the way, and Zynga did something similar in 2009.
