Japan’s biggest search engine, portal and site, Yahoo Japan, has posted some pretty good financials yesterday. Net profit for the January-March 2011 quarter grew 4.3% from 2010 on a continuing increase in advertising sales, which means even the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11 was able to stop the company.
Yahoo Japan’s group net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter grew to $296.6 million from $284.4 million a year earlier.
For the full fiscal that ended in March, Yahoo Japan’s net profit grew 10.4% to $1.13 billion from $1.02 billion: the company’s yearly profit increased for the 14th year in a row.
