Zynga Japan today introduced a new CEO, a Japanese person this time: Kenji Matsubara, who previously led video game company Tecmo Koei, will take over the role from Robert Goldberg on May 9.
Goldberg was sent over to Japan from Zynga proper, after the company bought Tokyo-based social games maker Unoh and made it their Japan office (he is now an advisor for Zynga Japan).
Matsubara was Tecmo Koei’s CEO until November 2010. I never met him personally, but in the press release, Zynga Japan says Matsubara has extensive international experience, apparently having worked for IT and gaming companies in ten different countries (i.e. for Hitachi and Oracle).
