Colopl (3668) had a good day yesterday.
The company first said that its flagship game “Quiz RPG: World Of Mystic Wiz” racked up 29 million downloads.
This number puts the app in the same ball park as Japan’s top smartphone game Puzzle & Dragons from GungHo Online Entertainment (3765). Puzzle & Dragons now boasts 30 million downloads in Japan.
Quiz RPG reached:
- 26 million downloads on May 31
- 27 million on June 21
- 28 million on July 18
- 29 million on August 18
Colopl launched Quiz RPG on March 4, 2013 on Android (the iOS version followed on April 22).
Colopl’s White Cat Project (Shiro Neko Project) Keeps Growing
In other Colopl-related news, White Cat Project (Shiro Neko Project), a mobile action RPG, has hit 7 million downloads in Japan.
The app is clearly on its way to become a hit and will overtake Monster Strike, the mobile action RPG made by Mixi (2121), soon if its keeps up the growth.
Colopl launched the game on Android on July 14 and on iOS on July 25.
Fueled by TV advertising and other marketing tools, White Cat Project reached:
- 1 million downloads on July 24
- 2 million on July 30
- 3 million on August 3
- 4 million on August 7
- 5 million on August 8
- 6 million on August 14
- 7 million on August 18
This growth curve makes White Cat Project the fastest-growing smartphone game in Japan so far, at least initially.
