CyberAgent is continuing to invest in Asia-based web startups. According to Japanese business daily The Nikkei, CyberAgent just invested US$700,000 in Tokopedia, a Jakarta-based e-commerce start-up. This is the third investment the company received, following rounds involving Indonesia’s PT. Indonusa Dwitama and Singapore-based East Ventures.
Tokopedia, which runs an Indonesian marketplace of the same name (more info here), gave away 10% of their company for the money from CyberAgent (according to The Nikkei). The site currently counts 7,000 stores selling some 150,000 items.
